Oakmont Downs Homeowners Association joins the alliance

January 7, 1999 -- Betty Cagle & Ernie Peņa attended the monthly meeting in December to get a sense of what the Northwest Neighborhood Alliance was all about.  We were very impressed.  They are actively involved on several commissions and committees with the city of San Antonio.  One important commission that they are involved with is the zoning commission.  They provide a service to all members where they will alert us whenever any commercial or residential developments are being proposed anywhere around our subdivision.  This is really important to us, since we don't want some commercial developer to slap together an unattractive or undesireable retail strip center right in front of us.  They will serve as our watchdogs and help us to express or support or displeasure with any development coming into our neighborhood.

The NW Neighborhood Alliance will be lending their expertise and helping us to work with our local business owners to keep our neighborhood looking good.  Ernie Peņa & Nani Falcone (Chairman of the Alliance) will be meeting with the owner of the cellular phone / window tinting business located on DeZavala Rd that moved in where that Stop & Go store used to be.  They will ask them to make the property look a bit more presentable.
