No Fluoride!

Once again this city council has dreamed up a new way to squander taxpayer
dollars! And what is so disgusting is that it's not even a new idea!
With all the spending proposals of this council, maybe you have forgotten
that several years ago city taxpayers voted 'NO' to dumping fluoride in
our water system!
I have been listening and talking to citizens about this issue and let
me tell you this -- the fluoride issue is not even in the top ten issues
that citizens are truly concerned about. Citizens are concerned about big
government trying to invade our lives!
What's next? Viagra, Rogaine or ecstasy to make us feel good about our
politicians? There are many modern ways to dispense fluoride without forcing
the citizenry to bathe in it or drink it without consent.
Why should big government treat us like a herd of cattle and force us to
drink fluoride? My 10 yr old daughter Amanda noted that perhaps what's next
is that this council will vote to have planes flying over the city to spray
air freshners to cover the excessive air pollutants in our city.
Many citizens are questioning the integrity of this council on this
issue. Where are the thousands of signatures by citizens who want
fluoride? Where is your track record on fluoride that makes you so committed
to the cause? Some citizens claim that perhaps Councilwoman Guerrero needs
a new campaign issue to raise funds to buy more sunglasses. And many claim
that councilmen Ed Garza and Tim Bannwolf need a ballot
victory of some kind to remove the bitter taste of defeat of the previous four
propositions to spend more taxpayer dollars.
And many citizens feel that to place such a divisive issue on a November
general election campaign is just plain politics and just plain stupid!
Mr. Mayor and members of this council, take note! Your dreams fluoride
have awakened C.A. Stubbs, Kay Turner and the old vangaurds of
sensibility and have brought them out of retirement for one last fight.!!
My advice is don't underestimate our citizen's resolve to clean
you all out before you clean us taxpayers out!!!
